Early Intervention or Preschool Special Education Services: PPTS has contracts with Monroe and Wayne counties:
These services are availabe for children who have significant developmental delays. Physical Therapy through Early Intervention or Preschool Special Education may be approved following an evaluation of all developmental domains. Referrals are made through the County Health Department where the child resides for children under three years of age. For children over three years referrals need to be made to the school district where the child resides.
Examples of conditions that may require long term Physical Therapy: Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Severe global developmental delays.
Medical Insurance: PPTS is paneled with most medical insurances:
Short Term Physical Therapy may be accessed for conditins such as Torticollis, mild Brachial Plexus Injuries, or Orthopedic or Neurological concerns that do not impact overall development.
Brachial Plexus Treatment Intensives:
A Brachial Plexus Therapy Intensive is a short but very intensive period of therapy in which the child and family learns strategies for recovery of function (more information is listed under the Obstetrical Brachial Plexus tab)
